OOTD: Green Velvet Tank Bodysuit and a Vintage Playsuit in Banana Print

 

I wore this outfit after my beach trip a couple Saturday’s ago. The top is a green velvet tank thong bodysuit from American Apparel. The shorts are the bottoms of the 2 piece Vintage Playsuit in Banana Print from Dixifried sold by Pinup Girl Clothing. This is the outfit I wore to Micheline Pitt’s Modern Pinup Makeup and Hair DVD release at the Pinup Girl Clothing Boutique.

These patent leather peep toe pumps are Michael Antonio. They look black in some of the pictures but are really green patent leather.

I bought the shorts at the Pinup Girl annual yard sale last year. I also bought this swimsuit you see in the next picture which I wore to the beach earlier that day. I think it is called the Marilyn Swimsuit but I’m not sure. On the website the Marilyn Swimsuit looks a lot like mine except it has some glittery brooches (rhinestones?) on the straps and mine does not.

The next Saturday I returned to  Santa Monica once again and since I didn’t quite know how to wash this swimsuit, I thought I would use my vintage play suit bottoms as bathing suit bottoms. The blue lame tube top is from American Apparel. This is the second time I paired an American Apparel item with these pinup girl bottoms. Who knew American Apparel and Pinup Girl Clothing would make such an awesome sartorial match? (Don’t mind the photo bombers in the backgrounds, it is a public beach after all.)
