On Monday Jamaican songstress, K’reema released her new single “Father’s Love”. Her father, the legendary Yellowman provides guest vocals on the track.
Last night I was fortunate enough to watch father and daughter perform the single onstage for the first time.
I have to say, the positive energy coming from the pair was very moving and inspiring, especially if you know a bit about Yellowman’s upbringing (He grew up in an orphanage and was ostracized for suffering from Albinism.)
K’reema dedicated the song to Yellowman and all of the great fathers around the world. One of the highlights of the performance was watching Yellowman introduce her; it was obvious that he is incredibly proud of his talented offspring and demanded a loud and raucous welcome for her to the stage.
They followed “Father’s Love” with a cover of the Fats Domino classic Blueberry Hill. Watch them perform both songs below.
I will upload a better video revision (filmed closer to the stage when my internet is co-operating)
